For the record...
(This is an evil public service announcement: if you missed the ad yesterday at TWOP, please ignore this entry as it will make as much sense as Molly's accent. Thank you.)


While publicity is obviously much appreciated, certain controversy-causing ads were not created by any of the First's minions, who were all quite astonished to find their underground lair being firebombed. The Harbingers are of delicate disposition & don't need the upset.

OOC: Okay, this is the absolute last entry. Just a note so nobody tracks me down and kills me in my sleep... if I had a hundred bucks, I'd spend it on crack and hookers donate it to a worthy charity for the protection of small, vulnerable animals of some kind. Any praise or otherwise about the banner ad should go to the person who created and paid for it (no, I have no idea who it was. First I knew about it was when people started commenting).

It was me.

I've been at a loss for what to do with my spare time.

It was a choice between banner ads and budget planning. Budget planning's about as fun as a Texas hooker on barbiturates.

I'ma sorry for the mix-up, but if you throw some of that crack (the drug and the hookers) my way, I can make the whole thing disappear.

Sorry to see you go, First...it was nice having a role model to look up to. It was fun while it lasted.

Check your email! I sent you instructions on how to download Buffy episodes, so you don't have to get by on the wildfeeds alone (assuming you crack, and decide to abandon a spoilerfree life, lol).

I assume by your post you were referring to the "Moving the Hell On" ad.... Now, the displayed ad states:

"Wanted: A Few REAL Female Hereos. Where have all the heroes gone? Fans of Willow & Tara United for XANDREW"

Don't show this to Xander or Andrew. Andrew may like it, but Xander would certainly freak. He was just kiding about the the gay thing.

First you should stay and just do what you are doing, no spoilers, just comedy. You never stop making me laugh. Thanks for the memories.

I beg you to reconsider your decision to cease sharing your Thoughts and Plans with your unworthy supplicants. Naturally we'll remain vigilant in our worship, but are there really not enough goats in the world to win back your favor? Piglets? Shirtless vampires? Fat carpenters? Can I interest you in one slightly used sexually ambiguous fanboy pastry chef who talks like Betty White?

But seriously - if it's access to new eps that's limiting you and buffyverse.de and/or the Buffy binaries newsgroup can't help, new episodes could probably be burned to CD from the wildfeed and then could *most likely* be overnighted to you, placing them in your hands the morning after the US airing. Just sayin'. Let us know.

Oh, sure, there are better ways to spend $100. Like the Stake For Spike fund. But I digress into issueville again. And on the other hand, the ad was amusing.

But for the love of Pete 'cause that Pete? He's a h*ttie you don't link an ad like that to someone else's web site without their permission, especially if you don't know whether that site supports the viewpoint of the ad.

But, my dear The First, as we all know, you're noncorporeal, so it would be rather pointless to go try to kill you while you slept.
... Do you sleep? 'Cause I haven't seen that in the show.

The idea of forking over a C-note for the original ad in the first place is kind of abhorrent to me, anyway . . . if you're so upset about it, why not give the money to an organization that deals with gay and lesbian teens, or something like that, rather than waste it bellyaching over a bloody TV show?

(I get the feeling I'm preaching to the choir here.)

On the other hand, the "Fans of moving the hell on" response was pretty damn priceless. Though again, I wouldn't spend the money on it. Not that I have money, anyway.

As for the third one?

By this point it's getting kind of ridiculous. So is the fact that there was an advertisement promoting this advertisement, posted at the Willow/Kennedy mailing list.

I popped back here in hopes that you had changed your mind and decided to stay amongst the evil who are watching as you deminish Buffy. After all, you have taken a semi-hiatus the last 2 episodes and reruns will be airing the next 2 weeks. (That was your plan all along wasn't it. To drive us all crazy by making us see reruns. Brilliant...simply brilliant.) Either way, remain well with your life and stay happy and evil.

Well, the Get Over It banner is up again and it does link you here. The Xandrew banner took you to a site that showed how the characters were all becoming morally corrupted...except for Tara.

Wow, I've learned something new. I didn't EVEN KNOW you could click on a banner and get somewhere. See what I've learned from reading the FE journal. I had to go to Television Without Pity and check it out.

On that note, the banners seem to be upsetting people and isn't that EVIL? I mean, wouldn't that be something the First would do? I'm talking about the REAL First Evil,(not you, journal writer) but the "from beneath you it devours", horrible badness. The First Evil is really evil. What do people expect? (OK, I guess if you're watching Buffy, not a lot. Geesh, TEARS!) First, you are losing your touch. I prefer the evil banner idea myself.

or maybe an evil minion placed it.

You guys missed the greatest banner ad of all time...for Oz. That brilliant H.B.O show that recently did its finale. It started
with a beautiful poem about rape with a spoon, and linked to the sexiest pix you have ever seen...Beecher & Keller 4ever
Unfortunately nobody ever noticed it with Willow & Tara board scandal. Great website. We will miss you.

More precisely, Amber Benson's the lucky one. No lame plots, no listening to Buffy speeches. If it weren't for the snarky recaps on TWoP, I wouldn't bother to watch. As it is I don't even bother to pay attention.

(I'd bet the people who did the ad were thinking more along the lines of "$100 to support TWoP, oh yeah, and piss off the people who did the twee Twillow ad as a bonus")

So let's see: They've created a banner ad that links to the site of an innocent who has NO connection to the extremely inflammatory ad in question.

More importantly, the ad in question is an attack on people who hold a certain opinion, an opinion which I guess disagrees with their own, and as a result they need to be told to "Get over it."

You know, at this point, if the Willow & Tara people wanted to make an ad that says "Fuck off," they'd be totally justified in doing so.

They really need to move on. I was so angry when they murdered Tara, but come on. I watched the show still, because I still love Willow, no matter what happened, and because I am not gonna give up on the whole show because of one stupid mistake. It was wrong, yeah, but they need to move on. And, being an optimist, if we didn't lose Tara(not that I'm happy about it) we wouldn't have gotten Kennedy. And I love Kennedy. Plus, there was a message in Tara's death, no matter how horrific her death was. It was that revenge won't help, you have to go through the pain, and eventually you will move on with that person still in your heart, and free to continue living. No reason to go making banners about how much you hate Joss and Buffy. Come on. Now they really need to GET OVER IT.
